Getting there
Walking, biking, and the bus
Walking (12–18 min)
The fastest route from UVM's main gate heads west down College Street. This corridor takes you directly past Lucky You and into the Church Street Marketplace, where Garcia's, True 802, and Float On are within one block of each other. The walk is largely flat along College Street. Bern Gallery on Main Street and Green Leaf Central on Thorsen Way (a connector between College and Church) are natural detours along the same path.
Biking
Burlington has dedicated bike lanes on College Street between UVM and downtown. Most dispensaries have bike parking nearby. Green Haven Herbals and The Herb Closet on Pearl Street are easy additions if you're looping toward the waterfront afterward.
GMT Bus (~10 min)
Green Mountain Transit connects UVM to downtown Burlington. UVM students have subsidized transit access through the UVMRides program — check with UVM Transportation Services for your current plan details. Carrying sealed cannabis in original packaging on the bus is legal under Vermont law; consuming on the bus is not.
Parking (if driving from off-campus)
Municipal garage parking is available at the Lakeview Garage (off Pine Street) and Cherry Street Garage. Most Church Street dispensaries are within a 2–5 minute walk of both garages.

Know before you go
Vermont law ≠ UVM campus policy
Vermont allows adults 21+ to purchase and possess up to 1 oz of cannabis. UVM's campus policy is stricter: the university prohibits cannabis possession and use on all university property — including dorms, campus apartments, and UVM-sponsored events held off campus — under the federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act. Even sealed, purchased product in your dorm room is a violation of UVM policy.
Students living in private, non-university off-campus housing who are 21+ are governed by Vermont state law. Public consumption remains prohibited statewide — legal use requires private property with the property owner's permission.
