About Burlington
The cannabis scene
Burlington has the densest concentration of licensed adult-use cannabis dispensaries in Vermont — 12 retailers within the city limits, with most concentrated in a walkable downtown stretch around Church Street, Bank Street, Main Street, and the South End along Pine Street. The Old North End has one neighborhood shop (Judy's Holistic Solution); the South End is anchored by Upstate Elevator's Pine Street flagship.
Adult-use sales launched in Vermont in October 2022, and Burlington was one of the first municipalities to opt in. The local market has matured quickly: the city now has a mix of independent operators (Float On, Bern Gallery, Lucky You), small chains (True 802 Cannabis, Heybud), and an integrated medical+recreational shop (Magic Mann's downtown sister stores aren't here — only their Essex flagship).
Most dispensaries open by 10 or 11 AM and close between 7 and 9 PM. Several keep later weekend hours. Sunday hours are common but shorter.
Getting around
Downtown Burlington is walkable end to end in 15 minutes. Church Street Marketplace is closed to cars and surrounded by 6+ dispensaries within a 3-block radius. Street parking is metered (Parkmobile app) Monday–Saturday 8 AM–9 PM and free on Sundays and holidays. The Marketplace Garage on Cherry Street is the closest paid garage. The Pine Street corridor in the South End has dedicated dispensary lots (Upstate Elevator). Green Mountain Transit's downtown loop and Marketplace shuttle drop within a block of most shops. UVM is a 10-minute walk uphill from Bank Street.
