How Much Does Weed Cost in Vermont? The Burlington Flower Price Index (September 2026)

One of the most common questions about Vermont's cannabis market is also one of the hardest to answer honestly: how much does weed actually cost? Prices vary shop to shop, they move week to week, and no two menus list the same product the same way. So we built a tracker that reads the live online menus of Burlington-area dispensaries every day and standardizes them to a single, comparable number: average flower price per gram.

Here is what that data shows as of September 26, 2026. These are live menu list prices, not sales figures, and they change daily — the point of this piece is the range, and the fact that where you shop can nearly double what you pay per gram.

The Burlington flower price index

Across the seven dispensaries we currently track, the average flower price is $9.95 per gram. But the average hides the story. Here is every tracked shop, cheapest to priciest, by average advertised price per gram of flower:

• The Herb Closet — $8.03/g
• Green Haven Herbals — $8.87/g
• Upstate Elevator — $9.41/g (the market median)
• Lucky You — $10.05/g
• Garcia's Cannabis Collective — $11.43/g
• Bern Gallery — $13.20/g (priciest tracked)

The gap between the cheapest and priciest tracked shop is $6.53 per gram — Bern Gallery's flower runs nearly 2× (1.98×) the per-gram rate at Float On. In eighth terms, that is roughly $23 versus $46 for the same 3.5 grams (estimate: per-gram list rate × 3.5g, before Vermont's ~20% combined cannabis taxes). The median shop, Upstate Elevator at $9.41/g, sits just under the market average.

What moved this week

Because we capture prices daily, we can see which shops are moving. Comparing September 21 to September 26:

• Biggest increase — Green Haven Herbals: up $1.74/g (from $7.13 to $8.87), a +24% move over six days.
• Biggest decrease — Bern Gallery: down $1.34/g (from $14.54 to $13.20), about -9% — still the priciest shop, but coming down.
• Float On eased from $6.95 to $6.67 (-$0.28/g), extending its lead as the low-price shop.
• Lucky You was essentially flat all week (about $10.05/g), and Garcia's Cannabis Collective — which we began tracking on September 23 — rose from $10.00 to $11.43/g.

The takeaway for shoppers: the cheapest shop this week may not be the cheapest next week. A single high-margin drop or a clearance move can shift a shop several rungs. That is exactly why a daily-updated index beats any static "prices in Vermont" number you will find elsewhere.

How we measure this

Our tracker reads each dispensary's public online menu and records the advertised price per gram of flower for every in-stock listing, then averages them per shop. As of this snapshot we are tracking 546 in-stock SKUs from 139 brands across the seven shops, representing about $16,930 in total advertised menu value.

A few honest caveats. These are list prices, not sales — they reflect what shops advertise, not what customers ultimately pay after deals or taxes. Eighth and quarter bundles are sometimes priced below the straight per-gram rate, so our eighth figures are labeled estimates. And "flower" spans everything from value shake to top-shelf indoor, so a shop with a premium-heavy menu will index higher without necessarily being "expensive" for comparable quality. We standardize the math the same way for every shop so the comparison is fair, even if any single number is a snapshot.
