Quick Answer
As of October 19, 2026, the lowest ounce-equivalent flower cost among the 89 Vermont dispensaries we track is about $100 at Ideal Cannabis in Sharon (shop average $3.57/g × 28 g), followed by Best Buds in Morrisville at about $111 ($3.98/g). At the statewide tracked average of $10.20/g an ounce-equivalent runs about $286, and at the tracked ceiling of $15/g (Matterhorn Apothecary) about $420. These are estimates built from advertised menu averages, not actual ounce SKU prices.
As of October 19, 2026, the cheapest ounce-equivalent of flower among the 89 Vermont dispensaries we track is at Ideal Cannabis in Sharon, where the shop's advertised flower averages $3.57 per gram — about $100 for 28 grams. At the statewide tracked average of $10.20/g, the same ounce-equivalent runs about $286; at the priciest tracked shop average, Matterhorn Apothecary in Wilmington at $15.00/g, about $420. That is a 4.2× spread from floor to ceiling, and on a single ounce it is a gap of roughly $320 — more than a whole ounce-equivalent costs at 63 of the 84 tracked shops with a clean per-gram average today.
A note on what you're reading before the table: the ounce figures below are estimates — each shop's average advertised price per gram of flower, multiplied by 28. They are not ounce SKU prices. We explain exactly what that does and doesn't capture further down.
The 11 tracked shops under $200 per ounce-equivalent
Shop-level flower averages as of October 19, 2026 (advertised menu prices, not point-of-sale), with the 28-gram estimate:
| # | Shop | Town | Avg flower $/g | Est. ounce-equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Ideal Cannabis | Sharon | $3.57 | ~$100 |
| 2 | Best Buds | Morrisville | $3.98 | ~$111 |
| 3 | VT Strong | Barre | $5.11 | ~$143 |
| 4 | Kingdom Boyz | Derby | $6.01 | ~$168 |
| 5 | Somewhere on the Mountain | Rutland | $6.20 | ~$174 |
| 6 | Notch Nugs | Jeffersonville | $6.28 | ~$176 |
| 7 | Blue Sage | Waitsfield | $6.40 | ~$179 |
| 8 | The Buddega | Springfield | $6.47 | ~$181 |
| 9 | Theory Wellness | Brattleboro | $6.91 | ~$193 |
| 10 | Killington Mountain Dispensary | Killington | $6.96 | ~$195 |
| 11 | Green Leaf Central | Burlington | $6.99 | ~$196 |
Two things stand out. First, the floor is a two-shop club: Ideal Cannabis and Best Buds sit under $4/g, and then there's a $32-per-ounce step up to VT Strong before the table settles into the $6-to-$7 band. Second, the cheap end of Vermont is mostly not Burlington: ten of the eleven shops above are in Sharon, Morrisville, Barre, Derby, Rutland, Jeffersonville, Waitsfield, Springfield, Brattleboro and Killington. Only one Burlington shop, Green Leaf Central, makes the under-$200 cut, and it does so by three dollars.
That's the snapshot, not the whole board. The full shop-by-shop table across every tracked dispensary — updated daily — lives in the Vermont Flower Price Index, and the cheapest individual listings statewide right now are ranked on Best Prices.
The ounce math, floor to ceiling
Putting the whole tracked market on the same 28-gram yardstick, as of October 19, 2026:
- Tracked floor — Ideal Cannabis, $3.57/g → about $100
- Second-cheapest — Best Buds, $3.98/g → about $111
- Median tracked shop — about $9.60/g → about $269 (our calculation across 84 shops with a clean average)
- Statewide tracked average — $10.20/g → about $286
- Tracked ceiling — Matterhorn Apothecary, $15.00/g → about $420
The same arithmetic on an eighth (3.5 g) is about $12.50 at the floor, $35.70 at the average and $52.50 at the ceiling — real money, but the ounce is where the gap stops being a rounding error. Between the floor and the statewide average alone there is roughly $186 on one ounce-equivalent, and 14 tracked shops currently average over $12/g, which is north of about $336 on the same yardstick.
What this estimate is — and isn't
Three honest caveats, because an ounce is exactly the purchase where they matter:
- It's a menu average, not an ounce listing. Our tracker reads every in-stock flower listing on a shop's public menu and computes an average price per advertised gram. Ounce-size SKUs usually carry a per-gram discount versus eighths, so a shop's real ounce listing can land below its average × 28. Equally, a shop whose menu is mostly premium jars can show an average well above what its one value ounce actually costs. Treat the table as a ranking of where flower is cheap per gram, not as a price list.
- Two shops are excluded today on purpose. Of 89 tracked shops, 2 showed a listed per-gram average under $1/g in this morning's read — a menu artifact that appears when bulk or pre-roll packs are priced by total weight — so we drop anything under a $1/g floor before ranking. The headline floor, ceiling and 4.2× spread are all computed after that scrub.
- It moves daily. Shop averages shift every time a menu changes, and the under-$7 club has reshuffled on most mornings this month. Today's floor shop was not yesterday's. Check the date on anything you quote.
For regulatory context only: Vermont's adult-use possession limit is 2 ounces of flower under Act 176, effective July 1, 2026, which is why the ounce is the natural upper yardstick for this comparison.
Why the cheap end of the table looks like this
A low shop average mostly reflects assortment and pricing strategy rather than a quality verdict. Shops land at the bottom of the per-gram table by carrying value-priced house or bulk flower, running deep standing deals, or competing hard on price in a part of the state with fewer nearby competitors — which is one plausible reason the floor is in Sharon and Morrisville rather than downtown Burlington. The average also isn't the whole menu: a $4/g-average shop can still carry top-shelf jars, and a $13/g shop can run a sharp ounce special that never shows up in its average. Our broader read of the state — including the full price distribution and the brand picture — is in the October 2026 Vermont cannabis market report.
How to actually use this
Two live surfaces sit behind this article, both refreshed daily from the same tracker: Live Deals catches the biggest price drops our tracker detected on Vermont menus today, and Best Prices ranks the cheapest current flower listings statewide — the place to look for an actual ounce listing rather than an estimate. For the durable every-shop view, the Vermont Flower Price Index is the canonical table, and the charts behind every number here are on our live data page. If you want to know when a shop near you drops under a threshold, the price-alert signup below this article watches the same feed.
Method note: burlingtondispensaries.com is a market-intelligence tracker, not a licensed retailer. All figures are advertised menu prices read from public dispensary menus across 89 tracked Vermont shops (12,691 in-stock listings) as of October 19, 2026 — not point-of-sale data. Shop averages are our own calculation across each shop's in-stock flower listings; shops whose listed average fell below a $1/g floor are excluded as data artifacts. Ounce-equivalent figures are estimates (average $/g × 28 g), rounded to the nearest dollar, and are not ounce SKU prices.

Zkittlez vs. Grape Ape: Same Grape Aroma, Opposite Terpene Lead
Zkittlez and Grape Ape share the same dense grape-fruit aroma family — and the same effects on paper (Relaxed, Sleepy, Hungry). One is Zkittlez's direct parent. But the COA tells an entirely different story: Grape Ape leads with Myrcene (body-heavy 90% indica, couch-lock from onset), while Zkittlez leads with Caryophyllene (indica-dominant hybrid, accessible evening arc, brief euphoric window before the body weight builds). The Grapefruit cross that created Zkittlez completely inverted Grape Ape's terpene architecture.

Jokerz 31 vs. White Runtz: One Is the Other's Parent — the COA Won't Tell Them Apart
Jokerz 31 (White Runtz × Jet Fuel Gelato) and White Runtz share the exact same top-three terpene fingerprint — Caryophyllene → Limonene → Linalool — because White Runtz is Jokerz 31's parent. A COA rank alone won't separate them. What does: the aroma (White Runtz is pure candy-sweet; Jokerz 31 carries fruit and fuel simultaneously) and the THC ceiling (Jokerz 31 tests 3–5% higher). Same fingerprint, different strain, different price, and very different aromatic experience.
