White Widow was bred in the Netherlands in the mid-1990s by crossing a Brazilian sativa landrace with a South Indian indica. It quickly became a signature coffeehouse strain in Amsterdam, and its frosty white appearance — so much visible trichome coverage that buds look dusted in sugar — set a new visual standard.

Effects are nicely balanced: creative, energetic headspace with a relaxed body, without heavy sedation. Great choice for anyone who wants the middle of the hybrid spectrum. Still widely carried and a good reference strain for understanding what balanced-hybrid effects feel like.
