Vermont Bud Barn
recreationalAbout Vermont Bud Barn
Vermont Bud Barn opened in October 2022 as southern Vermont's first licensed adult-use cannabis retailer β beating Cannabis Maximus and Theory Wellness to market. The shop occupies a renovated 1870 barn at 257 Marlboro Road (Suite 101) in West Brattleboro, about 3 miles west of downtown on Vermont Route 9.
Owner Scott Sparks founded the Vermont Hempicurean brand in 2018, building into adult-use cannabis retail as Vermont opened licensing. Vermont Bud Barn is part of that family of businesses, which also includes Vermont Grow Barn β a companion store (at the same location) selling home-growing supplies, seeds, and cultivation equipment for Vermonters who grow their own under Vermont's home cultivation allowance.
In 2024, the Brattleboro Reformer's annual Reader's Choice awards named Vermont Bud Barn the Best Dispensary in the area β a recognition driven by the local community.
Hours: MonβThu 10 AMβ6 PM, FriβSat 10 AMβ8 PM, Sun 9 AMβ6 PM. Sunday it opens earliest of the three Brattleboro shops (9 AM). Friday and Saturday are the latest weeknight options (8 PM close).
Vermont cannabis tax in Brattleboro: 21% total (14% excise + 6% state sales + 1% local option). Vermont Bud Barn's Route 9 location puts it on the corridor toward Wilmington and Mt. Snow β accessible from the ski-area approach.
